Athletic Leagues
Softball Leagues –The Recreation Division has a couple of softball leagues. We have a Monday night Men's C League and a Friday night Coed League taking place now. We also offer a Wednesday night Men's D League that is not running at the moment. We use umpires from G.S.O.P.A., and all games are played at the back softball field at Egan Park (9101 Blind Pass Road). If you are interested in getting a team involved with any of these leagues, please contact the Recreation Office at 363-9245. For a team sponsored by a St. Pete Beach business the cost is $330.00. The fee for a non-sponsored team or a non-SPB sponsored team is $500.00. Seasons run 10 - 12 weeks, and we try to get three seasons in during the year. Men's 30+ Basketball League – All members of the team must be 30 or over and male. We have had this program for over 7 years, and it is loved by all who join. We have experienced and certified referees. If you are interested in getting a team involved, please contact the Recreation Office at 363-9245. For a team sponsored by a St. Pete Beach business the cost is $330.00. The fee for a non-sponsored team or a non-SPB sponsored team is $500.00. Seasons run 10 - 12 weeks, and we try to get three seasons in during the year. Youth Basketball Program – This is a program the city is very proud of. We offer four levels of play. Children play one game per week for 8 weeks. Coaches are all parent volunteers, and our referees are all certified. This is a non-competitive league which is offered to help youngsters learn this great sport. If you are interested in getting your child involved, please contact the Recreation Office at 363-9245. There will be new fee rates for youth basketball upon passage by the City Commission.
