I need to order reclaimed water service, who should I call?

The Public Works Department at (727) 363-9243.
Who provides reclaimed water service? The City of St. Pete Beach owns the distribution system and is a wholesale customer of Pinellas County Utilities.

How much is reclaimed water monthly? For all single-family residences, the monthly charge is $11.50. However, all other uses, i.e. commercial properties and multi-family residences are charged based on their square footage of permeable (green) space. The square footage is divided by 3,150 square feet and rounded up to the whole ERU (equivalent residential unit). The total ERU's are multiplied by $10.00 and $1.50 is added once for a monthly billing charge.

Are there any limitations to the days and times I may use reclaimed water? No, there are no time/day limitations for the use of reclaimed water, although, we do caution residents with over irrigating their lawns. Over irrigating a lawn causes problems such as shallow root development, fungus, weeds and some types of pests. Furthermore, reclaimed water is a limited resource and if over used additional restrictions may be added for its use. Never use reclaimed water for drinking, bathing or cooking.

What can I use reclaimed water on? Reclaimed water should be used for agricultural irrigation purposes only. Please do not fill your pool, give to your pet, wash your car, etc. Furthermore, do not spray reclaimed water directly on any edible crops. For crops where the eaten surface is exposed, such as lettuce, irrigate the roots using an indirect method. If unsure, please contact the Public Works Department at (727) 363-9243.

I have noticed a change in water pressure coming from my reclaimed water system, whom should I contact? You may contact the Public Works Department at (727) 363-9243 during working hours.

Who is responsible for reclaimed water leaks? The City is responsible for any water leaks in the City's right-of-way, including the service box. The resident is responsible for any leaks on the owner's property, including the irrigation timer, selenoids, filter, valves and sprinkler heads. You may contact the Public Works Department at (727) 363-9243 during the normal week or call Pinellas County Utilities (727-464-4000) directly after hours and on weekends.
