Facilities Maintenance

Most of the services provided by Facilities are internal. The City of St. Pete Beach owns and operates 16 buildings that include City Hall, Police Station, Library, Public Works, two Fire Stations, Merry Pier, three community centers including the Warren Webster Building, Don Vista Building and old gym (the new Community Center should be on open late 2007), two beach concessions buildings at Upham Beach and Pass-a-Grille, three picnic shelters with restrooms, and two ball field buildings.
Programs
Facilities and Operational support :
- Carries out minor repairs to city buildings including plumbing, electrical, lighting, painting, carpentry, roofs, windows, floors, ceilings, overhead bay door, other doors and locks, parts fabrication, outdoor beach showers
- Facility upgrades and improvements. Currently, the Police Department is having hurricane shutters added. This upgrade was made possible through a Mitigation grant from FEMA
Contract Administration:
- Consultant on Improvement Projects
- Assemble bid specifications books
- Oversee Improvement and remodeling projects
- Monitor contract for custodial services, elevator maintenance and fire suppression systems and AC systems
General Support:
Assembles new furniture, moves and repairs furniture, hangs bulletin boards/plaques, transports boxes of records and equipment to and from buildings, acts as courier, repairs departmental equipment, empties recycle bins, installs data cables and picks-up and delivers voting equipment
Room Set-up Services:
Prepares rooms for city and association meetings, classes and special events.
Fleet:
- This program ensures a reliable supply of fuels and vehicles for the purpose of maintaining a livable community.
- Administer and monitor fleet fuel card system
- Maintain adequate supply of diesel fuel
- Administers vehicle and equipment surplus program
- New vehicle title and tag assistance
- Supervises removal of underground storage tanks
The primary goal and mission of this division is to ensure that these facilities are safe and clean for all to use. |
