Vacation House Check Program

The St. Pete Beach Police Department provides free residential vacation house checks for those citizens living in single family homes or duplexes.

This service is provided by Police Officers who will come out to your residence and conduct a foot patrol around the home to make sure it is secured.  They will check to make sure windows and doors are locked and undamaged. A careful log is kept of what activity was conducted on your property while you were away.  If necessary, and as situations might dictate, the individual that you specify as your emergency contact will be notified.

This service helps in providing peace of mind for those that need to be away from their home for an extended period of time. Vacation house checks will only be conducted for a period of up to four (4) weeks.

House checks are not conducted on homes that are occupied for any length of time during the homeowner's absence, and will not be available for homes that are vacant/ up for sale/ rent or homes under construction.

House checks will be suspended in the event of any natural disaster (such as a Hurricane), and may be suspended during a Hurricane Watch.

If you are interested in having a vacation house check, please FILL OUT THE FORM HERE AND RETURN IT TO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT - 200 76th Avenue St. Pete Beach or call (727) 363-9200.
