The Records Division serves a number of  functions within the agency.  Records personnel process all reports, entering the data into the Records Management System. This system is updated daily. Generally, police reports (including traffic accident investigations) are available to the public within two days, with the exception of on-going investigations or those classified as confidential per Florida State Statutes.

In addition, the Records Division issues all parking permits for the city. Permits are issued to qualifying residents, property owners and visitors as outlined by City Ordinance.  For detailed information on obtaining a parking permit, please click here.

Dispatch

Police dispatchers monitor the location of emergency services personnel and dispatch the appropriate type and number of units in response to calls for assistance. Dispatchers often are the first people the public contacts when emergency assistance is required.

Fitness Center

The administration is aware that physical fitness is paramount in law enforcement.  With this in mind, when the new police facility was built it included an area set aside for this purpose.  With the generous donations of our citizens and several employees, the fitness room has been equipped with professional workout equipment.

Briefing Room

At the start of each shift, the shift Sergeant briefs the Officers before they enter the field. Officers review the activties and events in the prior shift while discussing events which may take place during their shift.

Report Room

When Officers in the field make an arrest or issue a citation, they come back to the station to write a report on the events during the infraction.

Criminial Investigations Division (C.I.D.)

The St. Pete Beach Police Department operates a fully functional Criminal Investigation Division (C.I.D.) which is staffed by two Detectives, a Detective Sergeant and an Investigative Services Secretary.

The detectives are assigned to follow up on crimes reported to this agency which were not cleared or solved by the uniform officer taking the initial report.  These cases are prioritized by the Detective Sergeant based on several solvability factors and the seriousness of the incident.  The unit strives to follow up on all cases and leads where possible.

Normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  In addition, detectives are assigned to a rotating twenty-four hour on-call status.  This enables a detective to respond to any incident where their expertise is needed, regardless of the time or day of week.   The office is closed during all city recognized holidays.

For information on an investigation or its status please contact theKathleen Lauro at (727) 363-9215.

Holding Cells

The Police Department maintains four temporary holding cells. When arrested, a suspect is transported to the station where they are held for processing. Following normal procedures, the suspect is then transported to the Pinellas County Jail for further booking.
