St. Pete Beach Crime Statistics

UNIFORM CRIME REPORT

In mid July 2006, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement released the UCR 2005 Annual Report. The Florida state-wide UCR Report contains crime information from 411 of 417 local, county, and state law enforcement agencies throughout the State of Florida. This report encompasses law enforcement agencies that serve 99.9% of the state’s population.

According to The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, UCR Crime Report, crime in the State of Florida dropped 3.7% in the year’s comparison of 2004 and 2005. The UCR Index of Offenses includes the crimes of murder, forcible sex offenses, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny and motor vehicle theft. During that same time period Pinellas County’s UCR overall crime rate was reduced by 3.5%.

In the comparison years of 2004 and 2005, the City of St. Pete Beach’s UCR Crime Index was reduced by 13.2%. This outstanding community statistic is a result, in part, of the wonderful partnership that the residents and visitors of St. Pete Beach have with the men and women of the St. Pete Beach Police Department. Another, and very important element, is the dedicated, hard work of the men and women of the Department. Both the community and the men and women of the St. Pete Beach Police Department should be very proud of this accomplishment.
