The City Manager Department provides overall supervision all government operations in the City of St. Pete Beach. The department itself houses 4 employees, with Human Resources reporting directly to the City Manager. The City Manager Department is located on the second floor of City Hall with office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Structure:
The City Manager Department is lead by City Manager Mike Bonfield. The City Manager is appointed by and serves the City Commission as the chief administrative official to oversee and direct everyday governmental operations. Mike has been with the city since 2002. Colette Graston serves as the City Manager's Executive Assistant. Colette has worked in City Hall for over 20 years. Human Resources is located within the structure of the City Manager Department. Human Resources Director Gary Behnke has been with the city since 2006. Gary previously served in a similar position for the City of Oldsmar. Pam Chamberlain assists Gary with carrying out Human Resources duties.

Responsibilities:
City Manager - Serves as chief executive and chief operating officer of the city; ensures the efficient and effective management and supervsion of the city's affairs in accordance with policies adopted by the City Commission, the City Charter and applicable state law and/or municipal ordinances.

Human Resources - Maintains personnel files, assists city department directors with their personnel needs, recommends and implements peronnel practices and policies, develops training programs, administers the benefits program, ensures compliance with local, state and federal labor laws and actively encourages diversity in all city departments. Risk Management - Provides and promotes effective programs to protect all city assets from loss or damage, including both property and people.
