The Public Works Department

The City of St. Pete Beach Public Works Department welcomes you to its home page!

St. Pete Beach's Public Works Department provides a variety of services required for our community to function. Among these functions are the provision of and maintenance,

design and planning for roads, bridges, sidewalks, street signs, pavement markings, traffic lights, reclaimed water service, wastewater service, facilities management, environmental programs, solid waste and storm water drainage facilities that are used every day by the people of the City of St. Pete Beach.

The City's citizens benefit from the many services provided by our 19 dedicated employees who are committed to maintaining high quality standards.

The City's Public Works Department plays a major role in developing and maintaining the City's transportation and water resource programs. The Public Works Department provides engineering and construction services to other City departments, i.e., the Park Division, Recreation Division, and other departments.

Through the Department of Public Works' strategic planning process, we have developed 6 lines of business. You will find that everything the Department does will fall into one of these lines of business. These lines of business can be found in the Strategic Plan.

We are committed to involving the public in our project management process. Public meetings are held to notify local residents about alternative plans, cost estimates, and projected schedules. Stormwater management impacts arise on virtually every project. We are continually striving to take advantages of opportunities and challenges on environmental issues as they arise.

The Public Works Department, perhaps, has the greatest interaction with the members of the community. Therefore, we also have the greatest demand to communicate with the community. To increase our communications infrastructure we have created a Request for Services pages. Please check our Requests for Services web page to contact the Department, report unsafe conditions, and other generalized service requests.
