The City of St. Pete Beach is a beautiful area just perfect for relaxation, catching some sun, dining on the waterfront and just all around recreation. You will find several vendors that are licensed to do business on the beach. Many of these business rent umbrellas, cabanas, watercraft, and other beach activities such as parasailing. As public safety is a primary concern of the Public Works Department's Beach and Waterfront Line of Business, the Public Works Department provides the services listed above. If, in your travels along the beach & waterfront area, you find something that needs attention, please contact us at 727-363-9243 or through email. Boat RampsThe City maintains two boat ramps. One is located at Egan Park. A second is located in the Don CeSar area. For boat ramps, located throughout the Tampa Bay area, please visit the site listed below. Boatclix - Tampa Bay Public Access Boat Ramps Buoys Buoys are maintained, set and replaced throughout the western coastline. These buoys are enforced through the Police Department and are set for public safety concerns. See the map of our buoys. Fishing PiersThe City has fishing piers located throughout the City. They are located at the 1st Avenue Jetty, 7th Avenue and Pass-a-Grille Way, Egan Park and McKenny Park. Red Tide As with all coastal communities, we experience red tide events. This occurs from time to time and the Public Works Department works diligently to clean the beach as quickly as possible after such an event. For more information, please visit our Red Tide page. You will find monitoring information, links to government agencies involved with red tide events and a description of the situation and its related health concerns. Restrooms Public restrooms are located in in many of our public parks and concession stands.

Walkover and Driveover Structures These structures have been built in an effort to maintain the City's dune structures . The dunes provide a natural barrier to the high winds and wave action acting upon the coastline of the City in times of storms. By creating and maintaining these walkover and driveover structures we allow our dunes to develop on their own, providing the City with additional storm protection. |
