Florida Department of Transportation will begin their resurfacing project on Gulf Boulevard in St. Pete Beach next month. Here are a few key dates for the project:
- Due to delays related to weather, the anticipated start date is now the week of Labor Day (Tuesday, September 8) for preliminary activities (such as intersection signal infrastructure, signs, utilities, and sidewalk work). The General Contractor, Preferred Materials, Inc., indicated that they anticipate occasional spot lane closures during these activities.
- Paving operations were anticipated to begin in "late September", but will likely be pushed back to early October considering the delays. While this will necessitate extended lane closures and delays, typically these operations are performed during off peak hours.
- The contract calendar days for this project is 125, which would have the project completing near the end of December 2015.
