The City of St. Pete Beach has two fire stations servicing our 6 mile long island. Firefighters, EMTs and administrators provide fire protection and medical emergency response for over 7,000 properties and 15,000 residents. The department provides regular maintenance and testing of fire fighting equipment and conducts inspections of buildings to ensure safety standards are maintained. In addition, public awareness and education programs are offered through the Fire Department.

The Fire Department's organizational structure allows for authority to be delegated to ranking members for efficiency in carrying out the department's goals and objectives. The Department is led by Fire Chief Tom Malone. Fire Marshal Ernie Hand ensures fire safety compliance throughout the city.
