Mission StatementThe St. Pete Beach Police Department is to Dedicated to assuring the involvement of the community and our members in the safety and well-being of St. Pete Beach, while providing the highest standards of law enforcement service, recognizing that those we serve deserve no less. Every member will strive to promote a harmonious and positive team oriented relationship with fellow members and the community. Dispatch Police dispatchers monitor the location of emergency services personnel and dispatch the appropriate type and number of units in response to calls for assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 a year. Dispatchers often are the first people the public contacts when emergency assistance is required. Records The Records Division is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and is closed during all City observed holidays. The Records Division serves a number of functions within the agency. Records personnel process all reports, entering the data into the Records Management System. This system is updated daily. Generally, police reports (including traffic accident investigations) are available to the public within two days, with the exception of on-going investigations or those classified as confidential per Florida State Statutes. In addition, the Records Division issues all parking permits for the city. Permits are issued to qualifying residents, property owners and visitors as outlined by City Ordinance. Criminal Investigation Normal office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, detectives are assigned to a rotating twenty-four hour on-call status. This enables a detective to respond to any incident where their expertise is needed, regardless of the time or day of week. The office is closed during all city recognized holidays. The detectives are assigned to follow up on crimes reported to this agency which were not cleared or solved by the uniform officer taking the initial report. These cases are prioritized by the Detective Sergeant based on several solvability factors and the seriousness of the incident. The unit strives to follow up on all cases and leads where possible. History The City of St. Pete Beach Police Department has a rich history, dating back before the City of St. Pete Beach consolidated in 1957. Even in the early days, our force patrolled by land and sea. Check out the historic photos to the right. "Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records.
